Fuel pump filter for Yamaha four stroke outboards from 40 HP to 100 HP and Mercury EFI four strokes from 75 HP to 100 HP. It replaces Yamaha 6C5-13915-00 and Mercury 35-881323001, crosses to Sierra 18-79973, and ships as one filter in a 145 mm x 85 mm x 105 mm box at 71 g.
This is the filter that sits on the high pressure side, after the lift pump and before the injectors on the EFI and four stroke engines. It is a much finer element than the large water separating filter on the transom, and it is the one that catches what gets past the boat filter.
A blocked pump filter does not usually stop an engine dead. It shows up first as a loss of top end, then as a hesitation when the throttle goes down, and only then as a no start when the engine is hot. On an EFI four stroke the element is cheap and the injectors are not, which is why it belongs on the annual service rather than on the fault list.
Fitment covers the Yamaha F40 from 2012 to 2017, the F50 and F60 from 2007 to 2017, the F70, F75, F80 and F100 from 2012 to 2017, the F90 from 2011 to 2017, and the FT50 and FT60 from 2011 to 2017. On the Mercury side it covers the EFI four stroke F75, F80, F90 and F100.
