Product Overview
Fuel pump for Yamaha F25, F30, F40, F50, F60 and the T25, T50 and T60 four stroke outboards, and for Mercury and Mariner four stroke 25 HP to 60 HP motors, 1 x pump per pack, replacing 62Y-24410-04, 826398A1 and Sierra 18-35304.
This is the high pressure pump on the four stroke small block, the one that lifts fuel from the tank and pushes it to the vapour separator on the engine. Mercury and Mariner use the same pump as Yamaha under their own 826398 numbers, because the 25 to 60 HP four stroke was built by Yamaha for both badges.
The usual failure is a dead spot at 4,000 rpm under load rather than a no-start, because the pump weakens before it stops. Check the fuel pressure at the rail and look for a restricted filter or a collapsing primer bulb before condemning the pump.

- Check the number on the old pump, 62Y-24410-04 and 826398A1 are the same pump in two badges
- Check the model and year against the tables above, the four stroke range changed in 2004
- Check the fuel filter and the primer bulb first, both cause the same top end lean out
- Check the pump connector and the earth strap for corrosion before fitting
- Check the fuel pressure at the rail against the manual figure before and after fitting
- Fit new clips on the fuel lines, a weeping joint will draw air and lean the motor
- Run the motor on the water under load, not just on muffs, then check for weeps
