Idle air control motor kit for MerCruiser, Mercury and Volvo Penta EFI and MPI inboard and sterndrive engines, a direct replacement part for MerCruiser 805224A1, Sierra 18-7632-1, Mallory 9-33401, Crusader 47033 and Volvo Penta 3855185 and 3855194. It fits 4.3 L through 8.2 L petrol engines with electronic fuel injection and ECM 555 management, including the 262, 305, 350, 454, 496 and 502 cubic inch V-6 and V-8 blocks listed below. The IAC motor is what lets the engine hold a steady idle; when it sticks, the usual symptoms are a hunting or surging idle, a stall when you shift into gear, a hard cold start, or a fault code for idle speed control.

- Verify your engine model or serial number before ordering — ECM calibration differs across the 350 and 454 MAG families
- Volvo Penta owners: check the model code on your engine against the 4.3 GXi and GL series list above
- Check the fault codes first; a vacuum leak or a dirty throttle body produces the same surging idle as a failed IAC motor
- Clean the throttle body and the IAC passage before fitting the new motor, or the replacement will foul the same way
- Do not push or twist the pintle by hand — the stepper motor is calibrated on the seat
- Clear the stored idle-speed codes after fitting and let the engine relearn its base idle
