Product Overview
Impeller and gasket kit for Yanmar marine diesel raw water pumps, supplied as one impeller with one gasket, packed at 150 x 180 x 50 mm. The impeller replaces Yanmar 104211-42071 and 104211-42070 and crosses to Sierra 18-8952, and it fits the pump bodies 128270-42000 and 128270-42002. Shipped from our Germany local warehouse.
It is a 6 blade neoprene impeller, 40 mm (1.58 in) across and 19 mm (3/4 in) wide on a 9.5 mm (3/8 in) shaft, driven by a pin in a slotted shaft under a 6-bolt cover of 58 mm (2.25 in). The kit also carries the cover gasket 104211-42090, sold in our parts list as GC008, because a cover that has been off twice will not seal on the old one.
These small Yanmar diesels are everywhere in sailboats and workboats, and the raw water pump is the one item that stops the engine dead when it fails. An impeller that has run dry for even half a minute loses vane tips, and the pieces travel straight into the heat exchanger.

- This kit is for raw water cooled engines, a model number ending in F has fresh water cooling and takes a different impeller
- Check the engine plate, 1997 and later European built engines start with E and are not covered
- Coat the impeller with glycerine or liquid soap and turn the shaft in its running direction
- Fit the cover with the new gasket and do not overtighten the bolts
- This is the impeller and gasket, the pump housing is not included
