This is the service kit for the 2.5 HP Yamaha, the small four stroke that gets used hardest and serviced least. It covers the two parts that fail on it: the water pump impeller and the thermostat.
The impeller is the one that matters. At 35.31 mm outside and 9.99 mm inside it sits in a small housing on the top of the leg, and on an engine this size a worn impeller shows up as a tell tale that dribbles rather than a stream. Six blades in neoprene rubber on a key drive, the same as the original.
The thermostat comes with it because the two fail together. A thermostat that sticks closed will overheat an F2.5 in minutes at idle, and the impeller kit alone will not fix it.
The small parts in the box are the ones that get lost or reused. Two dowel pins locate the pump housing, the water seal goes on the shaft, four drain gaskets cover the gear case screws and there is a cotter pin for the propeller nut, so nothing has to go back on used.
