Power steering pump for MerCruiser Alpha and pre-Alpha sterndrives built from 1982 to 1992, supplied as 1 x pump assembly. It replaces MerCruiser 16792A39, 16792A1, 16792A33 and 90496A5, plus Sierra 18-7508. The pump supplies hydraulic pressure to the steering actuator; a failing one shows up as heavy steering at idle, a whine that follows engine speed, or fluid weeping from the pump shaft seal.
