Thermostat 17670-94J00 for Suzuki DF8A DF9.9 DF15 DF20R DF25A DF30A Outboard
Thermostat 17670-94J00 for Suzuki DF8A DF9.9 DF15 DF20R DF25A DF30A Outboard
Product Overview
Thermostat for the Suzuki DF8 to DF30 outboards, supplied as 1 x thermostat rated at 60 degrees. This is the part that holds the engine at its running temperature by opening the cooling water flow once it is warm. It replaces Suzuki 17670-94J02, 17670-94J01 and 17670-94J00, and it covers the small Suzuki four stroke range from the DF8A through to the DF30A.
The rating is what matters. This one opens at 60 degrees, which is a low rating and is normal on these small Suzuki engines. Fitting a higher rated thermostat to an engine built for this one changes the running temperature rather than fixing it.
It fails in one of two ways. Stuck shut, and the engine overheats within a few minutes of starting. Stuck open, and the engine never reaches temperature, runs cold, makes oil, and uses more fuel than it should.
The listings write the rating as 60° with no unit. Suzuki rates these thermostats in Celsius, so 60 degrees is 60 C, which is 140 F.
These engines are matched by model and year rather than by serial number, because Suzuki changed the housing by model year across this range. The model and year table below is the one to check against the engine.

Compatible Engines
| Model | Years |

| V2 | 2006 to 2013 |
| DF25A | 2015 and up |
| DF30A | 2015 and up |
These are the model and year groups given on the listing for this thermostat. The AR and R codes after DF9.9A and DF15 are the model suffixes Suzuki uses for the different builds of those engines, and both are covered by this thermostat.
V2 is listed with the DF20R and DF25R in the 2006 to 2013 group. It is written as a model code on the listing rather than as a displacement, so if your engine plate says V2 rather than a DF number, it is the 2006 to 2013 group.
The Australian listing writes DF20R as DF2OR, with the letter O in place of the zero. It is the same engine. If your engine is not in the table, send us the model and the serial number and we will check the thermostat against it before you order.
