Transom Bellows Kit 86840A05 18654A1 74639A2 for MerCruiser Bravo Blackhawk Drive
Transom Bellows Kit 86840A05 18654A1 74639A2 for MerCruiser Bravo Blackhawk Drive
Product Overview
Transom bellows kit for MerCruiser Bravo and Blackhawk drives, the complete set with the shift cable bellows, the exhaust bellows, the U-joint bellows, four stainless clamps and an outdrive gasket set. It covers 86840A05, 18654A1 and 74639A2, and the whole kit ships in a 15 x 16 x 15 cm box.
It fits Bravo drives from 1982 onward and the Blackhawk drives. Those are the drives where water in the boat is almost always a bellows problem: the two bellows and the shift cable boot are the only thing between the lake and the inside of the transom.
The three bellows do three different jobs. The U-joint bellows keeps water out of the gimbal bearing and the drive shaft, the exhaust bellows carries the exhaust through the transom, and the shift cable bellows seals around the cable. All three harden with age, and one split boot fills the bilge in minutes.
