Product Overview
U-joint bellows kit for the Volvo Penta SX-C, SX-M and TSK SX-M drives and the OMC Cobra sterndrives from 3.0 L to 8.2 L, the kit that seals the transom where the drive passes through it. It replaces Volvo Penta and OMC 22197130 and 3841481, it also crosses to 3854127 and 3852352, and it ships with the U-joint bellows at 86 mm to 95 mm inside diameter, the exhaust bellows, the water inlet hose at 23.7 mm inside diameter, four clamps and three sealing parts in a 260 mm x 150 mm x 180 mm box at 1358 g.
This kit covers the two drives that share the same transom opening: the Volvo Penta SX family, which is the drive Volvo built on the OMC Cobra joint venture, and the OMC Cobra itself. That is why one part number set appears against both badges.
Three rubber parts go through the transom. The U-joint bellows is the large one around the universal joint and the gimbal bearing. The exhaust bellows carries the exhaust gases out. The water inlet hose feeds cooling water up to the engine. All three harden and crack with age, and all three are replaced together because the drive has to come off either way.
The kit also carries the clamps and the sealing parts, so the job can be finished without chasing individual O-rings. Four clamps and three sealing parts come in the pack on top of the three rubber parts.
The years are usually quoted as 1994 to 1998 for both drives. Check the drive model on the transom plate and the engine litre size before ordering, because the SX and Cobra names were used across a wider span than the parts run.
