Product Overview
Water pump coupler, also sold as a cross piece, for Volvo Penta AQ and BB petrol sterndrive engines, supplied as 1 x coupler. It replaces Volvo Penta 831009 and 806256 and fits the AQ120, AQ125, AQ131, AQ140, AQ145, AQ151, AQ165, AQ170 and AQ171 engines as well as the 230, 250 and 251 series and the AQD21 and MD21 diesels. The coupler is the plastic cross that drives the sea water pump off the front of the engine. It is deliberately the part that strips when the pump seizes or when the impeller swallows debris, which saves the pump shaft and the timing gears, but it also means a stripped coupler looks exactly like a failed pump: the engine overheats and the pump pulley stops turning while the belt still runs.
