Water pump repair kit for Suzuki DF4, DF5 and DF6 four-stroke outboards and for the Suzuki built Johnson and Evinrude 4 HP, 5 HP and 6 HP four-strokes, containing the impeller, the stainless wear plate, the drive key and the case gasket in a 150 x 100 x 40 mm (5.9 x 3.9 x 1.6 in) pack weighing 68 g (2.4 oz). It replaces Suzuki 17400-98660, 17400-98661, 17400-986L0, 17400-986L1 and 17400-986L2, the OMC numbers 5033379, 5034323 and 0769680, and crosses to Sierra 18-3266 and GLM 12316, 15210 and 15410. These are the motors that push a 26 to 32 foot sailboat in and out of a marina, and that duty is the hardest a small pump sees: hours at idle in gear, long spells sitting, and then a burst of revs against a headwind. Water flow at idle has to be enough to keep the head cool with no ram effect from boat speed.
The kit contains the whole wear surface for a pump this size. Leaving out the stainless plate is the usual mistake, and a grooved plate will chew a new impeller within a season.
