Water pump impeller replacing Mercury 47-81242M and 47-95611M and Yamaha 662-44352-01, for the small 6 HP to 15 HP two stroke outboards both makers built in the late seventies and eighties. It crosses to Sierra 18-3063 and Mallory 9-45608, and it is supplied as 1 x impeller.
The impeller measures 39.65 mm outside diameter, 14.08 mm at the hub and 6 blades on a key drive, in neoprene. Those are the numbers to check against the old part: the 6 HP and 8 HP pumps look alike from outside, but the hub bore differs and a loose impeller will spin on the shaft instead of pumping.
At this size the impeller is often the only scheduled service the motor gets. Pull it every second season, wipe out the housing, and replace the whole pump if the stainless liner is scored, because a scored liner wears the new impeller out in months.

Before You Buy
- Measure the old impeller at 39.65 mm outside diameter, the 9.9 HP pump uses a smaller one
- Check the hub bore at 14.08 mm, the 6 HP and 8 HP pumps differ here
- Check the drive key is still in the shaft, a missing key is why some impellers fail early
- Inspect the pump liner for scoring and replace the housing if the surface is grooved
- Lubricate the impeller with glycerine before fitting, never install it dry
- Turn the drive shaft clockwise by hand after fitting so the blades set in the running direction
- Check the telltale stream on the first run at idle and again at full throttle
