Water Pump Impeller 389576 for Johnson Evinrude 4 4.5 5 6 7.5 8 HP Outboard
Water Pump Impeller 389576 for Johnson Evinrude 4 4.5 5 6 7.5 8 HP Outboard
Product Overview
Water pump impeller for Johnson and Evinrude outboards from 4 HP to 8 HP. The impeller measures 38.35 mm (1.51 in) outside diameter, 11.20 mm (0.44 in) at the hub and 17.78 mm (0.70 in) deep, with 6 blades. It replaces OMC 389576, 0389576, 433914, 0433914, 777822, 0777822 and 436137, and crosses to Sierra 18-3091, Mallory 9-45205 and 9-45214, GLM 89500 and CEF 500358.
These are the small two-strokes that live on tenders, dinghies and sailboat brackets, and the pump is the first thing to suffer when an engine sits over winter. A vane that has taken a set will still turn, but it pumps far less at idle, and a small outboard at idle is exactly where cooling matters most. Change the impeller on the interval in the manual and check the telltale before every trip.

Before You Buy
- Check the model and serial number, the 5, 6 and 8 HP years above are not continuous and the pump differs across them
- Compare the old impeller with the sizes above, 38.35 mm outside diameter and 6 blades identify this impeller
- Check the pump housing and cup for scoring while the pump is apart, a grooved housing wears a new impeller quickly
- Lubricate the impeller with glycerine and turn the shaft clockwise as the housing goes down
- Renew the housing gasket while the pump is apart, a hardened gasket is the usual cause of a weep
- Run the engine on muffs and confirm a strong telltale before the boat leaves the ramp
- 30-Day Easy Returns
- Free Worldwide Shipping
