Water Pump Impeller 6E0-44352-00 47-96305M 18-3073 89860 9-45611 for Yamaha Mariner Mercury 4 5 6 HP Outboard 6 Blade — Germany Local Warehouse
Product Overview
Water pump impeller part for Yamaha, Mariner and Mercury outboards from 4 HP to 6 HP, with a 39.96 mm outer diameter, 10.40 mm bore and 12.55 mm depth on a 6 blade key drive hub. It replaces Yamaha 6E0-44352-00 and 6E0-44352-00-00, Mercury Mariner 47-96305M and Parsun F4-03060000, and crosses to Sierra 18-3073, GLM 89860 and Mallory 9-45611. Shipped from our Germany local warehouse.
The bore is the number that matters. The other small Yamaha impeller uses an 11 mm hub, looks almost identical in the hand and will not fit, so measure the old one at 10.40 mm before ordering anything.
It covers the Yamaha four and five horsepower two strokes from 1984 to 2016, the F4 four stroke from 1999 to 2022, the F6 from 2006 to 2022 and the Mariner 4A and 5C from 1983 to 1985.

Three Impellers That Look Alike
| Impeller | Bore | Where It Fits |
|---|---|---|
| This impeller, 6E0-44352-00 | 10.40 mm | Yamaha 4 to 6 HP, Mariner 4A and 5C, Parsun F4 to F5 |
| Other small Yamaha impeller | 11 mm | Older two cylinder gearcases, will not fit this shaft |
| Larger 3 cylinder Yamaha | 45 mm outer family | 25 HP and above, different pump entirely |
| Mercury 2 HP impeller | Key drive, 47.5 mm | Separate motor family, not interchangeable |
| Suzuki 4 to 6 HP | Different hub | Own part number, no cross reference |
Cold Water and the First Start of the Season
| German Season | Effect on the Impeller | What To Do |
|---|---|---|
| Boat ashore November to March | Blades set flat, rubber goes hard in the cold | Renew before the first trip, not after the alarm |
| First start on a cold morning at 5 °C | Hard blades crack as the shaft turns | Run on muffs first, let the blades soften in water |
| Lake water at 8 °C in April | Pump moves less water than in summer | Watch the telltale for 2 minutes at idle |
| Winter storage below 0 °C | Trapped water freezes in the pump | Drain the pump and store the motor upright |
| Baltic use through October | Salt stays in the housing overnight | Flush in fresh water after every trip |
| Motor left on the boat over winter | Condensation inside the housing rusts the plate | Store indoors, or drain and cover |
Wear Plate and Pump Housing
| What You Find | What It Causes | What To Do |
|---|---|---|
| Grooves in the wear plate | Water slips past the blade tips | Renew the plate with the impeller |
| Scored pump cup | New blades wear out in a season | Check the cup for a ridge you can feel |
| Metal shavings in the housing | Something upstream has failed | Find the source before fitting a new impeller |
| Blades worn at the tips only | Normal wear plus grit in the water | Inspect at 100 hours on a working motor |
| Blades worn on one side | Bent shaft or a worn bearing | Check the shaft runout before rebuilding |
| Housing cracked at the outlet | Frost damage from a wet lay up | Renew the housing, an impeller alone will not seal |
Fitting Notes
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Measure the bore at 10.40 mm, the 11 mm hub impeller will not fit this shaft |
| 2 | Check the Mariner 4A and 5C serial numbers against 6E0-001011, 6E0-300101, 6E3-102151 and 6E3-400101 |
| 3 | Check the pump housing and the wear plate for grooves before fitting |
| 4 | Check the drive pin and the shaft slot, a worn slot shears a new pin |
| 5 | Drop the lower unit and take the pump apart on a clean tray |
| 6 | Fold the blades in the direction of rotation and lubricate with glycerine only |
| 7 | Seat the impeller on the key, then check the housing goes down square |
| 8 | Run on muffs, check the telltale at idle, then check again in the water under load |
