Product Overview
Water pump impeller service kit for Mercury outboards from 3.5 HP to 9.8 HP. It replaces Mercury 47-89980T1 and 47-89980Q1, crosses to Sierra 18-3054, and ships as one complete kit in a 150 mm x 180 mm x 10 mm sleeve at 63 g.
The impeller itself is 32 mm outside, 14.4 mm high and 11.0 mm on the hub, with six blades. It is the small pump used on the portable Mercury and Mariner motors, where the whole pump comes apart from the top of the lower unit.
The kit is complete rather than impeller only: it includes the cartridge outer plate 46895, the woodruff key, the guide sleeve for the water inlet tube, one seal and two O rings. The plate is the part most often left out, and a plate that has been run with a dry impeller will score a new one in a single season.
Fitment is by model and serial number: the 3.5HP from 6202173, the 3.6HP from 5404657, the 4HP two cylinder from 5589202, the US built 4HP at 5595532 A809600, the 4.5HP from 5595532, and the 7.5HP and 110 (9.8 HP) from 5206550. Check the serial on the clamp bracket before ordering.
