Water Pump Impeller Kit 06192-ZV4-000 06192-ZV4-A00 18-3280 9-48701 for Honda BF9.9A BF15A 9.9HP 15HP Outboard 19210-ZV4-651 — Australia Local Warehouse
Product Overview
Water pump impeller kit for Honda BF9.9A and BF15A four stroke outboards, supplied as 1 impeller, 2 gaskets and 1 key. The impeller measures 40.95 mm (1.61 in) outside, 14.11 mm (0.56 in) at the hub and 28.37 mm (1.12 in) deep, with 6 blades on a key drive. It replaces Honda 06192-ZV4-000 and 06192-ZV4-A00 and crosses to Sierra 18-3280 and Mallory 9-48701. Shipped from our Australia local warehouse.
The kit is built around the impeller 19210-ZV4-651, and it is the three parts that come off a Honda gearcase in one job: the impeller, the two gaskets either side of the housing, and the key that drives it.
Australian use is hard on these pumps for a reason that has nothing to do with hours run. Warm water softens the rubber, sand in an estuary grinds the liner, and a motor that never sees a winter never gets the long lay up that would make an owner look at the pump.

Warm Water and Sand
| What Happens in Australian Use | Effect on the Pump | What to Do |
|---|---|---|
| Warm estuary water all year | Neoprene softens and takes a set | Renew on hours, not on the calendar |
| Sand stirred up on a shallow bank | Grit grinds the liner and the blade tips | Inspect the liner, not just the impeller |
| Mud and weed at the ramp | Impeller stalls, key takes the load | Fit the new key in the kit |
| Salt left in the housing between trips | Blades stick to the liner and tear on start | Flush on muffs after every salt trip |
| Tropical use, motor run hard daily | Heat cycling ages the rubber faster | Shorten the interval |
| Fresh water dams and rivers | Slower wear, but silt still gets in | Check the telltale every trip |
When the Telltale Weakens
| Symptom | What It Means | What to Do |
|---|---|---|
| Telltale stream thinner at idle | Blades have taken a set | Renew the impeller before the next trip |
| Telltale fine at idle, weak on plane | Impeller slipping or the liner is scored | Kit plus a look at the housing |
| No telltale at all | Impeller failed or the inlet is blocked | Stop the motor, clear the inlet first |
| Overheat alarm at speed only | Pump cannot keep up at high RPM | Renew the kit and check the liner |
| Motor runs hot after a sand bank | Grit has passed through the pump | Renew the impeller and the gaskets |
| New impeller, still no telltale | Key missing or fitted the wrong way | Check the kit key is on the shaft |
Service Interval
| Use | Replace The Kit | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Weekend estuary use | Every 12 months | Rubber ages whether or not it is used |
| Weekly use in the north | Every 6 months | Warm water shortens the life |
| Hire or commercial boat | Every 100 hours | Keep a spare kit aboard |
| After any sand or mud ingestion | Immediately | Do not wait for the next service |
| After an overheat alarm | Immediately | Check the housing liner as well |
| Motor stored for months | Before the first run back | Blades stick to the liner while parked |
Fitting Notes
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Check the model plate is BF9.9A or BF15A, the BF8 and BF100 use a different pump |
| 2 | Measure the old impeller at 40.95 mm outside and 28.37 mm deep before ordering |
| 3 | Drain and split the gearcase with the motor in forward gear, as Honda specifies |
| 4 | Note the blade direction before the old impeller comes out, the new one bends the same way |
| 5 | Clean the housing and check the liner for scoring, a grooved liner wears out a new impeller |
| 6 | Fit the key on the shaft first, then slide the impeller down over it |
| 7 | Fit both gaskets and check they sit flat before the housing goes back on |
| 8 | Refill the gearcase, then run on muffs and confirm a strong telltale before the boat goes out |
