These are the small twins that have been on Australian rivers and impoundments for decades, and most of them are still earning their keep at trolling speed. A pump that has lost volume at idle is exactly the failure that hurts them, because a long slow day on an old two-stroke gives the motor no chance to cool down at speed.
Fitting the kit rather than the impeller alone is the whole point on this pump. The plastic housing wears into a groove that a new impeller cannot seal against, and the stainless cup underneath polishes through, so a fresh impeller in a worn housing delivers less water than the old worn impeller did when it was new.
