Product Overview
Complete water pump kit for Yamaha 40 HP, 50 HP and 60 HP four stroke and two stroke outboards, replacing 63D-W0078-01-00 and crossing to Sierra 18-3434. The kit is supplied with the impeller, insert cup, wear plate, housing cover, gaskets, O-ring, water seal, Woodruff key and the bolts and washers.
This is the full service kit rather than the impeller alone, which matters on the 40 to 60 HP Yamaha because the insert cup and wear plate wear with the impeller. Fitting a new impeller into a scored cup is the usual reason a rebuilt pump still runs hot within a season.
It covers the two stroke 40V from 1997 and 40Y from 2004 to 2007, the 50H from 1997 to 2003, and the four stroke F40A, F40D, F40H, F50A, F50F, F50H, F60A, F60C and F60F. Check the model code on the engine bracket before ordering, because the earlier 40 HP two stroke uses a different pump body.

Before You Buy
- Check the model code against the fitment table, the early 40 HP two stroke uses a different pump body
- Check the old impeller against 6H3-44352 before ordering
- Fit the new insert cup and wear plate with the impeller, a scored cup wears a new impeller out in a season
- Note the shift shaft position before the gearcase comes off, and do not turn it once it is free
- Lubricate the impeller with glycerine and turn the shaft by hand to set the blade direction
- Check the telltale at idle and again at planing speed on the first run
