Complete water pump rebuild kit for Mercury and Mariner F4, F5 and F6 four stroke outboards and Tohatsu and Nissan 4, 5 and 6 HP outboards, containing a new pump housing, a 12 blade impeller, a stainless cup liner, a stainless wear plate, three gaskets, a drive shaft pin and four bolts with washers, replacing 16159A03, 16159T01 and 369-87322-0.
This is the whole pump, not a service kit with one rubber part in it. On the 4 to 6 HP four strokes the housing and the stainless liner wear together with the impeller, so fitting a new impeller into a worn housing is the usual reason a fresh pump still runs hot. The kit replaces every wear surface at once and comes with the bolts, because the original ones are usually corroded after a few seasons in salt water.
The kit covers Mercury and Mariner F4, F5 and F6 motors from serial 0R411838 and 0R560794, and the same pump on the Tohatsu and Nissan four strokes and on Evinrude and Johnson 4 and 6 HP portables. Check the model and serial before ordering, then check the drive shaft splines and the pump base for corrosion while the housing is off.

Before You Buy
- Check the number on the old pump, 16159A03 and 369-87322-0 are the same assembly
- Check the serial number, Mercury changed the pump at 0R411838 and again at 0R560794
- Check that the housing bolts are not seized before starting, they often snap on these motors
- Check the drive shaft splines and the pump base for corrosion while the housing is off
- Fit the pin, grease the housing bore lightly, fold the blades with rotation
- Fit all three gaskets dry and torque the housing bolts evenly in a cross pattern
- Run on muffs and confirm the telltale before leaving the ramp
