Self Priming Foot Water Pump 8 L/min 1/2 in Hose for Yacht Bilge Galley Sink Wash Basin RV Toilet — Australia Local Warehouse
Product Overview
Self priming foot water pump for wash basins, galley sinks and bilge duties on boats, 8 L/min (2.11 GPM) through a 1/2 in (12.7 mm) flexible hose, fixed on-deck mounting with a 3-1/2 in (88.9 mm) rubber top. The pump body measures 5 in (127 mm) long, 4 in (101.6 mm) wide and 2-7/8 in (73 mm) high. Dispatched from our Australia local warehouse.
A foot pump is the one part of a boat water system that keeps working when the electrics do not, which is why it stays popular on yachts and trailer boats. There is no pressure switch, no accumulator and no drain on the battery, just a diaphragm that lifts water on each stroke, so the tap runs for as long as someone is standing on the pedal.
The mounting pattern is what catches people out. This pump needs 2-1/4 in (57.2 mm) between the long screw holes and 3-5/8 in (92.1 mm) between the short ones, so check the old pump's footprint before ordering, especially on a cockpit sole where the holes already exist.

How It Works
| Stage | What Happens |
|---|---|
| 1 | The pedal is pressed and the diaphragm compresses |
| 2 | Water is pushed out through the outlet valve |
| 3 | The pedal is released and the diaphragm springs back |
| 4 | The inlet valve opens and water is drawn up the hose |
| 5 | The non-return valves hold the prime between strokes |
Installation Notes
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Choose a flat surface where the pedal can be fully depressed |
| 2 | Check the screw spacing against the old pump before drilling |
| 3 | Fit the inlet hose with a strainer on the pick-up end |
| 4 | Keep the inlet hose as short and as low as practical |
| 5 | Fit hose clamps on both connections, do not rely on a push fit |
| 6 | Fasten with stainless screws and seal the holes |
| 7 | Prime with a few strokes and check for air leaks at the joints |
Maintenance
| Item | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Strainer | Clean before every season, more often in silty water |
| Hoses | Check for hardening and cracks at the clamps |
| Rubber top | Replace when the tread is worn smooth |
| Valves | Flush with fresh water after salt water use |
| Mounting screws | Check for loosening after the first trips |
